|How to use a question mark|
|1. Ending a sentence
Question marks are placed to end interrogative sentences or express uncertainty. A space should follow the question mark.
2. With quotations
When a question mark is used before the closing quotation mark, a period is not required to end the sentence. But there is a sourced quote following the quotation marks, a period is needed after the source.
3. Not with exclamation points
A question mark should not be placed together with an exclamation point. If necessary, just use the exclamation point to express exclamations.
4. No double question marks
Question marks should not be doubled for emphasis.
5. With parentheses and brackets
If the content inside a pair of parentheses or brackets is a question, a question mark should be placed inside the closing mark.
